Fair and just

If there will be a song appropriate for the masses, it will be a song that gives them a roof over their heads, keeps them safe and in relative comfort at night and in and out of the house, on the streets, sailing over sea and if they can afford it, flying on air.

If there will be poetry for the masses, it ought to be poetry that will fill not just their stomach but their minds, their hearts, their spirits, their entire being.

If there will be a painting for the masses, it has to be a painting that speaks in a language that each one of the masses will understand as if it was the most welcome news for them, their families, their friends, everyone that they care about.

If there will be a sculpture for the masses, it must be something that they could caress not so they will remember their misery, in the way they will think of joy, celebrate their small achievements and hopes, dreams and yearnings.

If there will be a stage play for the masses, it needs to be something that will keep them stunned, suspending all their cares and worries, all their apprehensions and fears. Most of all, the stage play, must be able to weld the masses together and in their state of suspension, be able to usher them to a path that is good and benign.

Governance sometimes requires a song, a small poem, something that will fill the eye and then something that will bind and keep them well-governed. How to cook up that song, the poem, the visual work of art and a play, that is the role that the public sector, a conscientious private enterprise and the sectoral leaders should be able to accomplish.
